Are you ready for some YOU time?

Please join us for an evening of precious self-care. We will spend our time in the company of other parents to reconnect with ourselves and our bodies, moving and breathing with an emphasis on moving from your center.

This class will focus largely on grounding, soothing our nervous systems and moving with strength from our center. There will be a lovely restorative ending to relax and renew you back into your very full lives. You might want to bring your own mat, blocks and a bolster or pillow if you have it.

This mini-retreat will take place at Lajja Yoga and Community Studio in downtown Milwaukie, Oregon at 10851 SE Main st.

*This event is for mother-identified parents and non-binary parents who have birthed children.

Connect to Your Core, Pelvic Floor & More

Yoga & Movement for Core Stability

unsplash-image-IbsgfRJslEc.jpg

This is a 2.5-hour whole body workshop for core healing. It is a practical, movement-focused workshop that will offer a full-body approach to healing core and pelvic floor issues.

We will focus on bringing awareness and strength during movement; you'll teach your body (and specifically your core) to be reflexive, responsive, supportive, functional and strong so that you will have increased capacity, decreased pain, and more stability in your everyday life.

We will play with how the core is the center of your whole body, and how it is all connected.
All levels and gender identities welcome.

During this workshop we will:

  • Learn whole-body exercises designed to improve overall posture and alignment, so the core is well set up to work optimally.

  • Feel how the breath can help (or hinder) the core’s ability to function well.

  • Discover why isolated pelvic floor exercises such as Kegels may be more harmful than helpful.

  • Understand how to work the pelvic floor in a more dynamic and effective way to promote lasting change.

  • Learn how to integrate core and pelvic floor exercises into everyday movement, or into other settings such as a yoga class.

  • Explore strategies for connecting to the deep core, not just the abs, so the body feels supported, stable and strong.

  • Dispel common myths around core and pelvic health, so you can take healing into your own hands.

The workshop will provide a safe and informative space to share, enquire and explore a range of practical and accessible tools for healing.

Following the workshop an email will be sent out containing some short videos to enjoy, so the good work can continue long after the workshop has ended.

This class is ideal for those with:

  • Diastasis Recti

  • Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Incontinence, Pelvic Pain

  • Back Pain

  • Or who simply wants to improve core function and feel stronger.
